Ear Adornment - Ear Cuff 2

Shots of me wearing the second ear cuff/ear piece I have made, 2012. Natural form inspired as usual. Sterling silver hand formed, soldered and oxidised.

Altered/customised old blouse

The patterned fabric was the original blouse but it didn't fit properly at the top being a size 8 (damn broad shoulders) so I dyed some lace which was meant to turn out black but turned out this light teal colour. Luckily matching some fabric I already had (yay). It cost £6 from an antique shop - I love a rumage. Anyway this is the result. Its not perfect but I'm learning each time :)

A painting to Celebrate 50 years of The Beatles and because I love them!

So theres bits of their songs all over the place here. I was free to go wild with the colours creating a psychedelic look. Hopefully you can tell which Beatle is which.

Quick paintings

Three quickish psychedelic free thinking paintings straight from my mind.

Ear Adornment - Ear Cuff 1

Ear adornment, ear cuff/ear piece 1 2012, sterling silver hand formed, pierced and soldered.

Different shots of me wearing an ear cuff I have made - no piercings required. Started off has an experiment for a commision but I actually really like it. I made just the one and found that it doesn't fit everyones ear as there are many shapes/sizes. Though on mine it is surprisingly wearable. I have a whole bunch of different design ideas for these to work on and I will re think how it fits around the ear so they fit more ears!

Bank Holiday Painting

So I wanted to do some painting and had the old 'blank page syndrome' and when I don't know what to draw I just end up doing a self portrait. I drew and painted my face from a photo and then added the peace cranes for the background. I think it sort of looks like me but as usual I have the tendency to over prettify things that I paint.

Sewing fun!

So a very kind friend of mine gave me a load of old fabric for free. So I've made some tops out of them keeping a vintage look. I still have a couple of bags full to work through. Don't look too closely at the stitching - I did'nt study fashion at uni. Other than a term in the first year of college, my fashion sewing skills are pretty much self taught.

Origami Peace Crane Mobile

I couple of months ago I had an urge to make an origami peace crane. I have always been fascinated with origami but as a child was never able to get the hang of making any. Anyway I made one straight away and then another until I had about 40. Thats when I made this mobile out of two dead branches from the garden I then painted white. I really like it and how it was cheap to make. Its also very peaceful to look at every morning when I wake up.

Started with a kiss...

...quite literally actually. This is the result of me playing around with my lip prints using red lipstick and adding to most of them using ink, crayons, paint, biro, pencil and a couple of them are handstitched too.

Self Portrait

I was just playing when I painted this. Its supposed to be a self portrait of me with things I like and things that have been associated with me over the years. Though I think it is perhaps me seen through rose tinted glasses, as I have an habit of over prettifying people I paint!
