Owl picture

Owl picture 2013, blue acrylic paint, blue biro and white posca pen on A2 paper.
I've been a bit ill over the weekend, this is what I did in those ill days. One for the Sheffield Wednesday fans perhaps - And before I get grief from the United fans, this was unintentional. I'm a none supporter....Though I did meet the owl mascots when I was little

Fox Picture

Red acrylic paint, red biro and white posca pen on paper. A2 in size.
I suddenly thought up doing this picture whilst in bed. I don't know where the idea came from, but I like the end result. I like foxes despite the fact that many people see them as a pest. It's just survival...
I would like to draw other typically british animals in this kind of style I seem to be developing, and in other colours too.

60s inspired painting/collage

2013, A 60s poster inspired painting/collage, 16in square. Specifically done for 1 out of 2 frames I got given which were originally tacky gold foiled. So I collaged them with pages from a old company magazine and then clear varnish. The frame does have glass too but I took it out for the photo. I'm going to do a picture in a similar style for the other frame so theres a pair.

Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds

2013 Painting based on The Beatles song 'Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds'. 565mm x 392mm (almost A2). Acrylic, watercolur and black and white posca pens. I'd like to do more paintings based on songs from more of my favourite bands, perhaps other 60s/70s bands so I can keep the psychedelic look.
I'm thinking other songs to paint from, should be from the likes of Cream, Rolling Stones and Big Star! 3 more of my favourite 60s/70s bands...And then possibly a David Bowie song...Then I have workshop work to do - I'm gonna be busy!

H is for Handmade/'Intertwined' 2011

This piece (that I have recently re-taken photos of me wearing) is all about celebrating handmade and questions jewellery as an art form. The neckpiece looks as though it as emerged from the painting. While it is being worn, the painting can be displayed on its own.
It is inspired by nature combined with my imagination creating plant like forms that don’t exist in the real world,
Painting – Acrylic paint, watercolour and ink on paper in wooden frame with Plexiglas acrylic, a layer of tracing paper and stainless steel hooks.
Neckpiece – Sterling silver, silver art clay (99.9% pure silver), pebeo glass paint and enamel paint.

A picture a day, experiments...

These are quick pictures that I did in the new year, trying to do one each day whilst the snow was around and I couldn't get into the workshop. Its all a bit random and experimental. All on A2 paper

Another Self Portrait

So I painted another self portrait in the hope of improving it. Theres also a lot going on in the background. Some of its about past and current interests/hobbies but theres also hidden meaning to a lot of it and some of it symbolises things.
